A Social Content Strategy for Miami Restaurants

Restaurants in Miami compete on visuals more than almost any other market. Diners choose where to eat by scrolling. The restaurants that win consistently are not the ones with the single most beautiful photograph — they are the ones publishing well-made content constantly.

Shoot on a schedule, not on impulse

The most common mistake is a single large shoot every eighteen months. It produces a hundred images that all look the same and gradually go stale. A quarterly or monthly cadence produces a steady library that tracks your menu, your seasons and your specials.

A half-day monthly shoot typically produces enough material for four to six weeks of posting across formats.

Prioritise motion over stills

Cheese pulls, pours, sear sizzle, the moment a sauce is spooned — motion outperforms static plating consistently, and it always will, because it communicates texture and temperature in a way a still cannot. Budget for vertical video first and stills second.

Shoot the room, not just the plate

People choose restaurants for atmosphere as much as food. Interiors at blue hour, the bar mid-service, the terrace at sunset, the staff plating in the pass — this content converts because it answers the real question: what will my evening feel like?

Get the light right at the source

Food photographed under warm restaurant lighting reads orange and unappetising. Professional shoots use controlled light, usually shot during closed hours near a window or with portable lighting. If your current content looks yellow, that is why.

Build a usable library, not a folder

Ask your photographer to deliver each dish in three crops: horizontal for the website and delivery platforms, square for the grid, vertical for stories and reels. Naming and organising by dish saves hours every month.

Measure what actually books tables

Saves and shares matter more than likes for restaurants, because a save is a diner planning a visit. Track which dishes drive saves, and shoot more of those.

We work with restaurants and hospitality groups across Miami on monthly content retainers as well as one-off menu shoots.
