A personal brand session is not a headshot session. A headshot answers 'what do you look like'. A brand session answers 'what is it like to work with you' — and it has to do that across a website, a pitch deck, a newsletter, LinkedIn, Instagram and every podcast graphic for the next six months.
Plan for volume and variation
The goal is not twenty great photographs. It is twenty great photographs that look different from each other. Variation comes from four levers: wardrobe, location, framing and activity. Change two of them and the images read as an entirely different session.
A well-planned three-hour session with three outfits and two locations should comfortably produce a full quarter of content.
Choose wardrobe for contrast, not just taste
Bring one neutral outfit, one signature colour and one relaxed option. Avoid tight patterns and busy logos, which date quickly and distract from the face. If your brand has colours, incorporate them in an accessory rather than head to toe.
Shoot activity, not just posing
The images that perform best show you doing something recognisable from your work: writing, presenting, on a call, reviewing a product, working with a client. Static portraits are necessary; working images are what make a website feel credible.
Ask for vertical video in the same session
Twenty minutes of B-roll captured during a photo session — walking, typing, laughing, adjusting a jacket — becomes the background footage for months of talking-head reels and text-overlay posts. It is the highest-return twenty minutes of the day.
Leave negative space
Ask specifically for frames with empty space on one side. These become website banners, LinkedIn covers, ad creatives and quote graphics. Tightly cropped portraits are beautiful and almost impossible to put text on.
Rebook before you run out
Brands look inconsistent when the imagery jumps from one session two years ago to a phone photo. A twice-yearly cadence keeps your presence current without a large commitment.
We shoot personal brand sessions across Miami, in studio and on location, with photography and vertical content in one booking.
